Premiere of Piano Concerto by Kansas City Symphony and soloist Joyce Yang, Nov. 22-24

Leshnoff’s new Piano Concerto, commissioned by Michael Stern and the Kansas City Symphony, will be premiered by Joyce Yang and the Kansas City Symphony under the direction of Michael Stern on Nov 22, 23 and 24. The concerto is co-commissioned by the Harrisburg, Knoxville and Tucson Symphonies with performances during the 20-21 season. Leshnoff and Yang worked very closely during the composition of the work. The concerto is dedicated to Joyce Yang and will be recorded by the Kansas City Symphony for commercial release.
